Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Pours a clear, yellow-gold with a mild film. Fruity, juicy and sweet aroma, bit of dough and orange. Sweet flavor, some caramel, honey, sugary malts, orange and grass. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Finish has some candi sugar, more dough, yeast, mild lemonn and grass, slight gum. Interesting beer, pretty well done.

Cask. A black beer with a red shine under a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel.

Cask handpull at Samuel Peto JDW Folkestone. Very decent bitter. Clear copper colour with thin lasting beige head. I liked it. Good black pepper hop on finish. Goldings on the aroma? Really drinkable.

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Amber gold with a dense cream head; aroma of orange marmalade; smooth and creamy texture, with a complex bunch of flavours - rich malts and molasses, but also sharply bitter with some citrus and pine resin thrown in for good measure; the finish is dry with a touch of fresh Germanic hops. I really enjoyed this.

50cl bottle from Londis, Barlaston, Staffs. Reddish chestnut with a foaming caramel coloured head; aroma of spiced caramel and apple; rich fruity flavour, thinner than expected; then a dry caramel finish with a hint of smoke and a gentle bitterness. Really nice.Cask at the Standard Bearer (JDW), Stevenage. Just as good as the bottled version. Dark ruby in colour with a creamy head; rich fruity and earthy taste with a smooth, dry finish. Rather like Hobgoblin.

50cl bottle from Londis, Barlaston, Staffs. An attractivce reddish gold in colour with a thick cream head that laces the glass nicely; stratightforward malt aroma; thick in the mouth with purple fruit flavours and robust malts; and a lightly bitter finish with a touch of citrus and pine resin. A really well put together bitter.

50cl bottle from Londis, Barlaston, Staffs. Straw coloured with light carbonation and no head; floral aroma; crisp citrus flavour with biscuity malts in support; clean German hop finish, leaving a sweet finish.

Cask, gravity, King’s Arms Beer Festival, Kidlington, Oxon 20.11.10 Dark chestnut in colour with an off-white filmy head. This is malty in the mouth with the honey showing , creamy chocolate flavour’s linger as does ab ever present pleasant bitterness. Nice beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask at the Duke William, Stourbridge. Pours dark amber with a medium head. Aroma is dark fruity malt. Not much to start on the taste, but has a fruity malt finish, with a drop of coffee.
