Cask at the John Logie Baird (JDW), Hastings. Amber with a loose cream head; vaguely fruity aroma; sweet fruity flavour - orange perhaps, and malty; the finish is caramel with some dull hops. Not at its best.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Halloween Festival 2011. Pours black-brown with a small, beige head. Great mocha nose, medium roast. Outstanding flavor, rich baking cocoa-like chocolate, moderate roast, espresso, medium sweetness, light earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Faintly dry and sticky sweet finish, dirt, dark sugar, tons of mocha, baking cocoa. Long lingering cocoa. Probably best beer of the fest so far, and I don’t see it being topped. (4.4)
Bottle during the High Speed Tasting Pt. II on the train back to London. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Milk chocolate in the aroma, some sugary bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with dark bread, further milk chocolate, char, strong roasted malt character. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Dry and roasty on the finish, some baking cocoa, moderate sweetness, dirt. Solid. (3.9)

Cask at Market Porter. 27th September 2011. First taste is beautiful, lychee and fresh. Loses that on initial impact but still a lovely pint to have in the sun. Would have again
