Description
Socially responsible brewery based on a farm at the foot of the South Downs National Park, Sussex. We feel passionately about our environment and embrace our beautiful, rural location which inspires us to create beer we love and want to share.

Bedlam was established on Albourne Estate winery in 2011 by a group of friends and we were then encouraged by our local community to start brewing commercially in 2015. We have since expanded and moved to our current location. We continue to promote a strong community ethos.

Bedlam was named after Bedlam Street running through Hurstpierpoint to our original site. We are informed that the original Bedlam road runs directly through to our new site, which, if true, would be a crazy coincidence!

Behind the bedlam it’s always a barrel of fun.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A chestnut pour with a thin beige head; biscuity malt aroma; creamy body and a light malty taste; then a biscuity finish with a touch of spice. A basic malty bitter.

Bottle from a relative at Christmas. Now almost three months out of date. Aroma is quite deep musty hop, the US hop variants coming through. Strange transluscent colour. Taste is fine, watery-ish US hops. Easy drinking (watery side). This is a tough one, it has a jolly overall vibe with hops and easy drinking but it just feels a bit disjointed and messy. It's not bad but probably much better on cask.
