Pint at The Old red Cow. A pretty chestnut colour in the glass, but served too cold. Lots of bitter hops, but an emphasis on the malt made for a smooth pint of beer. Biscuit, a bit of farmyard and forward bitterness made for a good English pint, with the added bonus of coming in at 4% abv. Perfect for a quick lunchtime pint to clear the head after a morning of GDPR.

Pint on tap at Ginger Fox, Sussex. Dark amber beer with thin film of bubbles on top. No carbonation. Citric nose with hints of durian. Neutral taste, finish is earthy and fruity. Looks terrible, smells OK, tastes alright. Needs a touch of carbonation to bring it alive. Boring.

18/5/2018. Cask at the Fat Cat, Ipswich. Pours golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, grass, flowers and light syrup. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate sweetness. Medium body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Too sweet.

Cask at MS HW, 02/02/18. Mid amber copper pour with a decent light beige head. Nose is toffee, dusty hops, airy malts, brown sugar, mellow fruit. Taste comprises biscuit, caramel, hint of fruit loaf, straw, candied orange peel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent cask sessioner.
