[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A hazy straw coloured pour with a ring of white head; dusty lemon aroma; thin and watery in the mouth with a lemony taste; and a fresh lemony finish with a long finish.

Can from Beer52. Crystal clear light gold with moderate sized white foam. Aroma and flavour of citric and grapefruit rind, malts and a floral resin. Sweet with a leafy bitterness. Its ok, a bit standard for the style .

Can from Beer52. Pours dark brown with small head, thin retention. Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, some light fruit, spice and grass notes from the hops. Taste: sweet malts, chocolate, a developing roast flavour through to the finish with smoke and spice. Palate: smooth if a little thin, medium fine carbonation works well. Enjoyable enough porter and a new brewery for me. Happy days.

Cask at the Railway, Streatham, London 28/11/2024 Somehow missed this over the years, getting dark sweet and roasted malty, notes of chocolate, toffee and caramel malty sweetness, nice soft cask carb mouthfeel with a slightly light body, roasted sweet chocolate malty finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Four Chimneys on 26 Mar 2025 at 07:31 - Score: 6. Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Black with a beige head. Not served in the best condition. Soapy with a little smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with some nice roasted malt, but also a slight sourness. It feels a little raw, and the soapiness didn't help. Didn't feel this was served in particularly good condition. It's odd that berkshirejohn had it in the same place and on the same day, and had such a different experience, but then I've never really liked this brewer's beers. It's odder that berkshirejohn seems to often be in the same place as me on the same day and yet I've never met him & don't know who he is - maybe I've got a stalker!

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A shiny peat brown coloured pour with a tight tan head; aroma of richly roasted malts and brown sugar; milky mouthfeel with a toasted grain taste and a smoky bitterness; then a dry finish with some acrid smoke and a gentle warmth. A proper porter.

Cask at the Jewel of the Severn, Bridgnorth. Pours bright gold with a large head. Aroma is grainy straw. Taste has straw and grain with a touch of egg.
