Can. Typical supermarket low-grade with enough sweetness to make it drinkable, but low on character. Golden with no head.

500ml bottle from Morrisons Teesside Park. Clear golden colour, thin foamy white head that quickly disappears and aroma of tart apple. Taste is sourish apple with some woody & leathery notes. Slightly watery mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, low carbonation, dry fairly clean finish. Quite OK.

500ml bottle from Morrisons drunk at home on New Years Eve 2013 whilst waiting for my roast chicken to cook. Clear deep amber pale brown colour with lasting thick beige head. It’s an ok bitter, just a bit thin and lacking in character. Reminds me of a slightly poor French Biere de Garde brune. Lacks a sense of fullness. Some malt character yes. Not much hop. OK but lacks a bit of character as I say.

Bottle from Morrisons and drunk at home. Clear gold thick white head. Hoppy aroma. It’s an ok APA/IPA. Touch of pine hop on aroma. Bitter on the finish. Some harshness rather than proper bitterness. Some white pepper. It’s ok. Quite decent, quite tasty.

Bottle from Morrisons and drunk at home. Now this is one of my favourite styles in the world. I love a good American Red Ale. Any this isn’t one. It’s an ok inoffensive beer, but it’s a bit insipid, lacking the requisite big grapefruit American hops. A very safe boring tamed down version. Nor does it have the rich fruit malt. I mean as a beer it’s ok, but as an American Red Ale it’s rubbish, nothing like it. So do I rate on it as a beer or a style? As a beer of course, who cares about styles? So a 3.0/5

Bottle from Morrisons and drank at home. Clear paleish brown/deep amber lasting off white head. Some amber malt on the aroma. It’s a decent bitter. Some amber malts. A little bit of hop. It’s fine. Quite malty and interesting. Drinkable enough. OK. It’s fine. Not too exciting but ok.
