Description
Portobello was founded by Rob Jenkins & Farooq Khalid in September 2012. Rob is a beer industry veteran who’s worked across the industry in a career spanning 30+ years. Farooq is a brewing and engineering whizz who is just as comfortable designing & building new bits of brew kit as he is devising delicious recipes.

Cask hand pull old shades whitehall. Clear amber lasting off white head. Slighly nutty aroma. Ok in the mouth some malt sweetness. Not much hop. Fine if not too interesting. Ok dryness on finish. Ok condition

Cask (handpump) @ Gunmakers, 13 Eyre Street Hill, Clerkenwell, Greater London, England EC1R 5ET. [ As Portobello Pale ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, light apple. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20140805]

Cask at Finborough Arms, West Brompton, London. A dark brown/amber coloured pour with a thin white head on top. Nutty, malty aroma. Tastes similar, nutty, malty, rather thin but OK.

On Tap at the MailBox, Lincoln. Pale gold colour with a white head. Aroma is earthy malt and hops. Taste grainy bitter sweet. Ok, but not great.

Keg at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Black pour with a beige head. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and licorice. Dark fruit and raisin flavours. Dry, malty finish.

On tap at Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Pours orange with small white head. Citrus, hops, pine, hoppy, malty. Nice bitterness.

Keg at the draft house. Pale yellow clear coloured pour with a lasting white cap. Aroma is semi sweet, grainy lager notes, bit stale. Flavour is composed of grainy, light vinegar, pale grains, stale grains. Meh. Palate is crisp moderate high carbonation. Really not very good.

From cask. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild citric and slight fruity hoppy. Dry, citric and estery fruity. Mild bubblegum. Bitter, citric.
