Description
B&T began brewing as an independent brewer in 1982 under the name Banks & Taylor's, with the aim to produce traditional cask ales using only the finest raw materials.
In 1994 Banks & Taylor's became B&T Brewery Ltd and continues to produce top quality, award winning cask ales today. Using traditional methods and a combination of pale, wheat, crystal and roast malts along with Challenger, Golding's and Cascade whole hops, B&T are able to produce over 30 different beers, each with their own distinct character and flavour.
Seasonal specials are produced to celebrate or commemorate the many different traditions, folk laws and historical events that have taken place locally.
In 2020 the Brewery was shut down and beers contract brewed at 3 Brewers.

Cask at The Tyburn, JDW, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, white head; thatโs where the positives end. Has a tangy, light malt nose. Flavor has definite tang. Some wood. Fuck. I order a pint - which I rarely do, preferring halves - and the beer is absolute shit. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweet finish with tangy lemon and wood, along with some dull, offensive leaves. Fuck it. England is playing Italy soon. Iโm necking this swill so at least Iโll be loose for kick-off. This stuff is pretty rancid. Almost sour. Not pleasant. [Neither was it pleasant when England went on to lose to Italy on PKs.]

Spoons Fest. Clear amber beer. Soft dry palate. Almost zero carbonation. Light malt with a mild bubblegum undertone. Not much else going on here. Inoffensive but bland. Semi dry finish.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a thin white head; weak, fruity, malt aroma; sweet with some orchard fruit and a thin, oily, body; then a lingering, fresh, hoppy bitterness to finish. Not very inspiring.

Cask, handpump at The Elm Tree, Cambridge Sun 15th April 2012 with Loz Pale gold fruity beer with raspberry aroma though it is more sweet shop artificial raspberry than proper rasberry fruit. In fact whilst this is not undrinkable by any stretch of the imagination it is all too artificial for me. I am struggling to get any hops or bitterness, instead the sweet synthetic raspberry sort of takes over. Ok but only just. A6 A4 T5 P2 Ov11 2.8

Hand pulled pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates Dec 2011. Golden, light amber body with an off-white head on top, doesnโt give much lacing but tried to stay the course. Aroma of citrusy hops and an undercurrent of mild malts. The Beer is brewed using Pearl Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Wheat Malt, Challenger Hops and Golding Hops. The taste is hop bitter foremost, but not overly hopped, those malts counteract the hops nicely. A good, easy to drink beer, I like this breweries beers but rarely see them in my neck of the woods.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Light haze on this pale gold beer. Short lived tidy white head. Light palate, semi dry. Semi crisp. A somewhat odd beer. Tart citrus, more lemon than orange and then unexpected smoky notes! Finishes dry and crisp with minerals, citrus orange and apple!! (Good apple). Messy but alright!

Cask@Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2011. Ambery golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, caramelly with some mild floral and mild toasted notes. Flavour is the same, but leaves a rather longlasting fruity and floral hoppyness.
