Description
Proudly Brewed in Yorkshire since 1999

The award-winning Salamander beers was founded in 1999. Dr Daniel Gent (a doctor of brewing and one of Salamander's founders) mission was to bring high quality independently brewed beer to the masses. To this day Salamander continues to surprise and delight its many customers.

And we haven’t lost our touch for beer either.

Brewing ceased in early 2019 and restarted in late Summer 2021.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Dark fruits and liquorice in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet smooth and creamy with dark fruits, liquorice and roast malts. Eventually some balsam comes through to supply a medicinal finish. This is great !

Hand-pulled pint at The Wrekin Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 9th April 2022. Poured by my son who was helping out behind the bar. Clean and clear light golden body, decent snow white crown on top. Mild citrussy nose and flavour front, some maltiness in there too, but mostly citrus hop notes, mini-bitterness.

Cask at Crown Hotel, Nantwich. Pours a golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. Rhe nose has some fainr orange and marmalade leanings. In the mouth it has a sweet and chewy texture, with autumn fruits as the main flavour plus traces of vanilla. Later on some bitter hops make themselves known, and they are the mainstay in the finish. OK, but a bit bland.
