Description
Established in 1979, Belgian brewery Abbaye des Rocs is a family-run business which was founded by Jean-Pierre Eloir and his wife Marie-Jeanne Bertiau. Now managed by their daughter Nathalie Eloir and her partner Georges Levecq, the brewery launched the micro-brewery movement in Belgium and the rest of the world.

Color marrón oscuro, opaca, espuma beige de retención media. Aroma a malta tostada, chocolate, frutos secos...todo ello sostenido por un muy atractivo aire 'sour' de fondo. En boca los ésteres de levadura dan base a diversos matices de fruta fresca, fruta pasificada, caramelo, pan negro, especias...y todo ello aderezado con un delicioso toque agrio. Alcohol imperceptible. No es precisamente una cerveza de trago largo, pero está tan deliciosa y tiene una textura tan agradable que podrías bebertela en cuatro tragos y pedir otra. Madre mía qué delicia.

Color marrón rojizo, muy oscura, espuma beige poco persistente. Aroma muy rico y complejo, notas de pera, malta tostada, fruta pasificada (pasas, dátil, ciruela), frutos secos...En boca entra sedosa y suave, cargada de sabor y matices, pasas, frutos secos, caramelo, toque de especias, chocolate...posee cierta nota tanto en nariz como en boca que me recuerda al melón. Dulzor en su justa media, final seco y moderadamente amargo. Deliciosa, una pedazo de cerveza.

Bottle 33 cl. Dark brown with red, close to chestnut, with a very fluffy yellow head. Aroma: sweet, filled with caramel and berries: redcurrant jam, raisins, dried dates and other dried fruits, fortified wine. Taste: sweetish, caramel, dried fruits, black and redcurrant jam, a touch of prune, vinous, with a light iodine note. No bad.
