(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug) Copper colour with brief off-white head. Malty, nutty nose with a touch of citrussy fruit. Malty, slightly nutty taste with notes of citrus (orange, mandarin) and a fairly dry finish with spicy bitterness. Good balance between malt, fruit and hops, but not really exciting.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.2%. Clear copper coloured beer, decent off-white head. Fruity aroma (red berries), also hints of caramel. The flavour is fruity and malty with very moderate hops / low bitterness. Slightly "dusty" finish. Not bad.

Cask at Jyske Øldage in Horsens 2006. A pale amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fruit and malt, as well as light notes of caramle. The flavor is sweet malty, but with light notes of both sulphur and metal.

Amber with a small head. Light hops aroma, quite weak and boring. Sweetish flavour.

Aroma of caramel malts, light fruit, and a hint of earthiness. Amber color with a whitish head that diminished but laced. Starts with apple! Then some roasted malt. Sweetness and fruit. Not a great deal of hop. Yet the finish is something like dry, sharp apple. Apple!

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Deep amber, airy head. Perfumy nose. Sweetish and light bodied, fairly soft. Dusty with soft papery malt and shampoo. Salty finish with some resiny bitterness. A straightforward, rather aromatic ale with a bit of character of it’s own.

Pour is a amber with a tan head. Aroma is caramel malts with some molasses. Flavor is a bit earthy and smoky. Some caramel malts with a nice mellow hoppyness that comes out after the swallow. A decent beer and available at most beer stores.

Medium malty aroma, with, yes, an apple component. Would I have known without reading the commercial description? Who knows. But it’s there. Dark amber color with a head that doesn’t stick. Starts medium thin with an apple peel / malt mix. Gets thinner. A rather clean taste. The malt fades, and some bitter is for the finish. But it’s not all that hoppy. I grew up with water that had hydrogen sulpide. There’s a hint of that. (refer to the C.D.) Sharp, crisp, yes. A bit watery though. Really refreshing. Retro. Celtic.

A ruby coloured ale, with a depp malt fruit with a slight sweet syrupiness in the flavour.
