750 mL bottle courtesy of StlWill. This was on my wantlist forever. Thanks! Best by 14/02/2011. Valentines day... how sweet! Pours a dark reddish brown color. Cloudy with huge floaties. Large frothy head with good head retention and some lacing, though the glass seems to be coating more by floatie sludge than last. Aroma of earthy malts, chocolate, brown sugar, bread, crayons, light fruit notes including cherry and apple. Taste is decidedly more fruity with definite notes of cherry, berries, apple, apricot. Also brown sugar, yeast, toffee, spice and almost sherrylike notes. Full bodied. The floaties definitely make their presence known on the palate. Very soft carbonation. All in all a very nice beer. 8/3/9/3/16
750 mL bottle at the Relentless Thirst Gathering in Richmond, VA, 8.29.09. 2005 vintage I think. Pours reddish copper with a medium head. Perpetual head retention and nice lacing. Aroma of slight funk, berries, cherries and raisins. Taste is caramel, other malty notes and light berry notes. Medium bodied. 8/4/9/4/17

Sample at La Chatelaine. The beer is a murky ruddy brown color with a medium tan head that recedes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits and malt, plus notes of caramel and yeast. The finish is fruity with yeast and earthy malt left over. Good all around.

15/03 0.75 l bottle from beershop.hr, shared with Doggythedog. It poured amber body with medium sized head and body full of bigger particles. Some caramel and yeasty banana aroma, along with citrus fruits, a bit spicy like almond as well. Sweetish flavor, nutty, quite nice and with fine, subtle fruity sweetness...It finishes with some slight sourness beside prolongued sweet flavor. I liked this beer quite much, contrary to my friend.

33cl Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Murky yellow amber colour, lots of yeast, thin white head. Aroma of stonefruits, yeast, coriander, a hint of sourness, not unlike a Belgian witbier. Flavour is soft and sweet, fruity and spicy, mainly coriander, with a light sour-bitter finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Both aroma and flavour are 7+. Nice beer.

11.2 ounce bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours a dark browinsh red color with floaties, some of them on the larger side. Medium creamy head with a medium body. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, bread, dark fruits, candi sugar and spices. Taste is brown sugar, caramel, raisin, dates, candi sugar, bread and yeast. Full bodied.

A golden amber ale with a thick off white head. Pleasant aroma of hops, catnip and coriander. in mouth, a light candy sugar, a bit of oranges, tangerine, maple. Lighter bodied than expected but good. Bieropholie import.

(Bottle at One Pint Pub Belgian weeks ’09 -- shared with many people, thanks to of you!) Murky brown and cloudy. Small white head. Malts, sweetness and pepper in aroma. Full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, sweetness, pepper, bitterness, some liquorice and caramell in taste. Malts and bitterness in aftertaste.

0.75l bottle from the Croatian Beershop shared with heavy. Poured a hazy orange-red body filled with particles, medium sized persistent white head. Dusty herbal hoppy nose, some orangey notes, yeasty, some malt, tobaccoe even humm. Complex enough. The taste, even if the mouthfeel was fine and silky, was a disappointment. The taste I usually identify as beets is present, not as annoying as it can get in a beer, but enough to ruin it a bit for me. Slightly acidic hop bitterness, some bready yeastiness, generally sweet maltiness, weak. A bad bottle? Dunno, the others here liked it. It’s not my type.

Bottle @ The Trappist, Oakland, CA. Pours adark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty spicy yeasty aroma with some hints of dark ruit. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a warming sweetish malty spicy finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste.
