Bottle at home – Christmas present from my brother Well the start is innocuous enough, just some dark citrus in the nose. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. But the strength is in the flavour – it has a real bite. Loads of hops giving bitterness, plus pine needles and some orange fruitiness. A really dry finish as well. This is what a hoppy beer should taste like.

Cask @ Whitelocks, Leeds. Golden-blonde with a creamy head. It's a light hoppy brew with an easy mouthfeel. It has healthy water with a very mild fruity tang.

Bottle at home (gift from brother) Nose has fresh earthy hops. Pours a very pale, slightly brownish, yellow with a frothy generous white head. In the mouth, there is an initial flavour of lime and cola, before bitterish lemon comes powering through. There is more lemon here than in my lemonade ! Lemon and apples in the finish. Verdict is out on this one.

Cask, third at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Coast To Coast. Shared with Finn. Clingy lacing from a low off-white head. Clear copper body. Farmyard nose with malty sweetness. Taste of forest, caramel and mild ripe lemony acidity. Mid-tart, sweet and dry end. Quite alright. (Third day of the festival, 24.01.2020).
