Tried at the Strugglers Inn Lincoln. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma citrus malty and alcohol. Taste light sweet to light bitter. Medium body.

Gravity cask at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Amber, clear with a very loose off-white head. Fresh hoppy aroma: grassy, vinous and sharp. Bitter taste but there’s a tongue-coating maltiness as well. Body is thin for the ABV but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Tangerine and quince in the aftertaste. The more I drink this, the more I like it. Superb.

Cask (gravity) @ NBF 2015 [ The 40th. Nottingham Beer Festival (The 8th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival) ], Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6EB. [ As Milton Minerva ].Clear medium yellow colour with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, pale malt, fruity, sweet malt, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20151009] 6-3-6-3-13

Keying at the 2017 Cambridge Beer Festival. Very dark brown with a ring of tan head. Coffee and vanilla aroma: it smells like it’s going to be too sweet. It is, but the sweetness is tempered a bit by some light bitterness in the finish. Eggy vanilla and mochaccino in the aftertaste. Pretty good but a bit too affected.

Cask (handpump) @ White Lion, 73 Oak Street, Norwich, Norfolk, England NR3 3AQ. [ As Milton Medusa ].Light unclear medium to dark brown colour with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Handpull cask at the Haymakers, Cambridge. Mid- to dark gold, with a big white head that quickly dissipates. Country garden and orange peel aroma. Sweet taste which has a slight citrus astringency in the medium to long finish. Thick oily body. You can taste the premium strength, and it gives the beer a bit of bravado. So... not Milton’s most interesting recipe but certainly worth a try.

Handpull cask at the Queen Edith, Cambridge. Deep gold and clear with very little head. Quite flat. Malt, orange peel, limeade and sage in the aroma. Taste is quite bitter - acrid actually - and continues to jar going down. Long medicinal aftertaste. Not really sure why it’s the way it is, if it’s just me or if it really is this tough going. It seems like there’s a good beer in here but the balance is just too messy for me.
