Cask, at the Oakdale Arms, London N4, UK on 3rd June 2009. Hoppy, pale, bitter ale, light body and a weak, white head which quickly reduces. The beer was on good condition at the Oakdale, and strong hop notes in the aroma precede a main hoppy and slightly citrus fruity kick. Condition (despite virtually no head) conveys a medium palate of soft carbonation, and a lasting dry finish ensues. A rewarding pint.

Cask at the Oakdale Arms, London N4 yesterday. A moderately flavoursome amber bitter, with malt being the salient feature. Moderate biscuity malt aromas on the nose, quite rich in malt flavours on the main kick, with a slightly (but not overly) sweet lingering finish when the drinker pauses between sips. Clear, with a thin, insubstantial diminishing head, but a weighty body. A pleasant drink.

Cask at the Oakdale Arms, London N4, on 3rd June 2009. Golden ale with very little head (white) and a flat texture. The head dies quickly to become non-existent halfway down the pint glass. When compared to well-kept Dionysus I personally found Icarus to be disappointing, primarily on account of flatness and slightly cloying flavours. Grapefruit and resinous aroma soon giving way to a sharp, acidic taste which I personally found unfavourable by comparison to other Milton beers. However tastes differ, and from experience the quality of Icarus does vary.

CASK @ Oakdale Arms, Harringay London N4, on 3rd June 2009. Delicious refreshing session ale with a small diminishing white head, generous hoppy notes and fruity aroma, some nuttiness in the initial kick, and delicately hoppy dry finish. A smooth, slightly saline mouthfeel - this pint was Dionysus at its best.

Cask, Gravity at Banbury Beer Festival, Oxon, 07-05-09 Pours warm gold this has a really good bite to it. Very dry at times but also really tangy. There are orchard fruits dancing about in the mouth, some sweetness but a really crisp bitter bite. This is a busy little beer for a 3.8%, finishes with streaks of citrus whipping around the mouth. A6 A4 F8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask @ 3 Judges. Ruby red/brown colour. small tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, dry fruits and toffee. Flavour: aceton, estery, dark fruits and caramel malts. Slightly bitter finish.

On gravity at the Mermaid, St Albans 15/02/09. Clear gold in colour with a slight white head. A pleasant session ale with some sweet malts and decent floral and grassy hops. leading to a decent dry finish. Good.

Hazy blond color. Light malty aroma, with very light fruity hops. Fair malt and toffee flavor, good bitterness (lightly resinous), but missing some punch, the flavor seems flat.

Dark mahogany color. Aroma of caramel, mature, and some alcohol. Good body strength, with caramel flavor and light medicines, herbs; caramel finish. The final is quite empty. Rare example in England, but probably the yeast is not the best suitable one for this strong beer.
