(Cask at Oakdale Arms, Harringay, London, 24 April 2008) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, apricots and fresh notes of grassy hops. Malty, fruity, clean taste with notes of citrus and a dry, hoppy, grassy finish (almost leaning in the german pilsner direction). Some malt sweetness in the middle. Nice and very refreshing.

(Cask at Oakdale Arms, Harringay, London, 24 April 2008) Dark amber colour with brief, white head. Suspiciously cloudy. Fruity nose with notes of orange peel and earthy, slightly citrussy hops. Fruity taste with citrus, nuts, toffee and balanced amounts of earthy hops in the moderately bitter finish. Light body. Decent session beer, but hardly exciting.

Cask, Gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb’ 08 Brown with more than a touch of redness there, some white bubbles on the head. Very fruity to start with but then sweetness, spice and malts start to show, quite warming. Fruits become more discernible with plenty of dried stuff figs and dates notably. I liked this but have to confess that it wasn’t quite the barnstormer I was expecting it to be.

Hand bottle at home ... From the Merton Winter Beer Festival(feb ?08) ... Huge Huge Huge thanks to FIN for this ... Deep solid balck ... no head ... quit still again i suspect the hand bottling ... light roast chocolate malt ... Deep dark roasts ... Deep solid roast malts ... lots of chocolate ... some hops show through but well balanced ... some roast coffee and like others i do think i pick up a little soy sauce. 4.2 as it stands but i think its body suffers a little through the hand bottling. Cask at GRAF 2017... Dark black.. Thin tan lacing... Dark dry chocolate.. Massive licorice.. Dry chocolate roast malts nose.. Dark roast.. Light fruits.. Massive licorice.. Tiny coffee... Quite still as above but not flat.. Think i was carried away with hype before or times have changed or both 4.0

Hand bottle at home ... from the Merton Winter Beer Festival ’08 ... Huge thanks to FIN for this ... Deep brown hint of red ... quite still but that could be the hand bottling ...light sweet malt nose ... soft sweet fruity notes with a tartness in the background ... huge winey grapes and raisins ... with a light gentle spicyness ... Alcohol doesnt show in the slightest.

(Cask at Oakdale Arms, Harringay, London, 28 Nov 2007) Black colour with foamy, brown head. Roasted nose with notes of chocolate, sweet liquorice, dark fruit and cocoa. Lovely beer with lots of complexity.
