Description
Pictish Brewing Company is a small independent brewery established in April 2000 by Richard Sutton. Early in 2013 Richard decided to opt for an easier life and skive off leaving things in the hands of his old friend Paul Wesley. We brew a wide variety of high quality cask conditioned ales and deliver direct to the licensed trade in the Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire areas.

Sweet and bready with light citrus and straw bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, mildly bitter, with a bready aftertaste. Solid overall.

Gravity cask at the Old Fountain Beer Festival. Pours opaque brown with a bubbly, beige head. Lovely char, tobacco and cocoa nose. Lightly sweet flavor with tons of roasted malts, tobacco, slight minerality, very little bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Great finish, very roasty with light burned wood, mocha, coffee grounds, light dryness, and still very mild bitterness. Some hints of brown sugar, too. A wonderful British porter. I can’t see this being much better.

@ Stockbridge Tap. Golden-amber. Thick head. Toasty aroma with hints of leafy, tobaccoey hop. Slightly herbal, earthy, toasty bitter. The finish actually has a deep rich bitterness that really belies the understated hop aroma and flavour. Great laci
