Cask, gravity at Merton Beer Festival, 16-07-10 Pale gold in colour with white head, good clarity, crisp dry and refreshing, some light grapefruit touches on the nose. I have recollections of the Mikkeller Warrior when I drink this, not that they’re at all similar but because I described the Mikkeller ’single hop Warrior’ as very workmalike and clearly its more functional than some of the sexier varieties. It has to be said that people like Pictish and Mikkeller get the most out of this variety, its never going to be a world beater but its damn tasty, refreshing, dry, crisp, tangy, bitter and just lovely, no fancy dan aromas, nor incredible flavours, but what it does it does well, and that is be a very drinkable tasty, golden beer and for that it gets an extra point on the overall score.
