Description
Pictish Brewing Company is a small independent brewery established in April 2000 by Richard Sutton. Early in 2013 Richard decided to opt for an easier life and skive off leaving things in the hands of his old friend Paul Wesley. We brew a wide variety of high quality cask conditioned ales and deliver direct to the licensed trade in the Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire areas.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival, 17th & 18th February 2012 Another one of those Pictish beers that Mes would describe settle with a trademark Pictich snowstorm, before then becoming wonderfully clear. Colour is straw as the description suggests and taste is decent but not as good as some Pictish and not as good as some on offer. However it was this beer that sold out first and I suppose for your more casual real ale drinker the softer tones of this beer, light hoppiness and relatively easy going bitterness were much more in favour, v.good but not great. Cask, handpump at Marble Arch, Manchester in company of Loz, Baz, Jude 21.01.12 Straw coloured, maybe a little darker with a slim white head. Touch of spicy hop in the mouth, constant dryness, good beer but didn’t blow me away. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask, gravity at Dudley Winter Ales Festival Sat 26th November 2011 with Bob Pours gold and with a wonderful clarity and with a white head. despite suggesting that three days in the beers at this festival are not in the best of condition now, this one certainly bucks the trend. However flavour wise it didn’t really impress, not the best from Pictish though I think this is more likely the hop, I get a touch of creamy light vanilla fudge and some late dryness, but not a lot else, to be fair on day one the aroma and flavours may have been better.
