Description
Pictish Brewing Company is a small independent brewery established in April 2000 by Richard Sutton. Early in 2013 Richard decided to opt for an easier life and skive off leaving things in the hands of his old friend Paul Wesley. We brew a wide variety of high quality cask conditioned ales and deliver direct to the licensed trade in the Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire areas.

Cask at Ealing beer festival. A pale golden/straw coloured pour with a smallish head. Nice hoppy, floral aroma. Tastes fresh, malty, hoppy, citrus fruit, dry, crisp, bitter. Lingering aftertaste that makes you want more. Always reach for Pictish when I see it, lovely stuff.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Like all Pictish beers, very good, maybe a tad astringent bitter, rather than flavourful, but still great condition and very drinkable.

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, 18th ’Coming of Age’ Beer Festival 28-05-10 Pours warm gold, loads of tangerine in the mouth, in fact this is very marmaladey, there is a light hoppy fizzing on the tongue honey and marmalade creeping all around the mouth, nice tanginess with a curly citrus bite. I liked this, but Loz loved it and mostly drank just this on Friday and Saturday until it ran out. This is the landlords (Kevin) favourite beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

Cask at Marble Arch Inn, Manchester. A dark red-brown beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt - sweet as well as roasted, combined with notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of chocolate and some odd note, leading to a dry and very roasted finish.

On gravity at Bristol beer festival, 19/03/10. Clear gold with a slight white head. Pleasant tropical fruit and citrus hop aroma , with some hay and touch of sweet malts. Flavours of lemon, pineapple and sweet biscuits, leading to grapefruit hops and a lingering, dry finish. My first Pictish beer in a while, and proof that its still an excellent brewery.
