ABV: 4.9%. Cloudy dark red brown colour with a small, open and fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, roasted, sweet malt, meat, wood, smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, smoked, dark malt, sweet malt, meaty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171208]

ABV: 6.8x%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, light pine, light earthy hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, fruity malt, fruity hops, fruity, light citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Tried in a bottle from Hopology Nottingham. Pale copper colour with a white head. Aroma has malty caramel with a slight citrus. Taste is balanced bittersweet. Medium body.

Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at Tuckers Maltings Taphouse. Deep, bright amber coloured body. Filmy layer, good lacing. Rich malt-fruity nose. Flavoured with leafy hops, earth and moments of buttery malts. Mid-dry malt-fruity ending. Well made and well kept cask ale at the pub. (Newton Abbot 27.04.2017).

Bottle from AndrewC and drunk at home. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Some ester some wheat character, some lemon. It’s not really a hefeweizen more a wheaty golden ale. OK though. Bit dirty. It’s fine. A little watery as with all of these bottles.

Bottle from AndrewC and drunk at home. Clear amber colour lasting off white head. Some decent citrus fruits, a little under carbonated. Decent malt and hop flavours. Best of the Padstow beers so far.

Cask-conditioned at Bristol Beer Festival, 24/3/2017. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Sweetish, tangerine and pineapple fruit, some biscuity malts, citrus hops and moderately dry finish. Good.

Bottle from AndrewC and drunk at home. Well it’s not great carbonation on pouring it. It has some malt. Some wateryness, which appeared in the smoke one. I mean it feels as though there is water, hops and malt here but they don’t seem to sit happily together. It’s a fairly unadventurous beer which fails to excite or make me want to drink it again. Hmmm. It’s likely I am going to end up the top rater of a brewery whose beers are fairly underwhelming. Some amber malt flavour a little bitter hop on the finish.
