Description
Remnant Brewing opened in 2018, founded by four friends with a passion for craft beer. Joel is the dollars and cents guy, and Dave is the dreamer with a can-do attitude. Brittany, our GM, brings years of hospitality experience and shapes our team to welcome you into our taprooms. Last, (but arguably most important!) Charlie, our Head Brewer, is the bread and butter of this operation. He brings 17+ years of brewing knowledge to the table and crafts the some of the best beers around.

Draught at brewery, 4/25/23. Dark chocolate, small head. Roast, light amounts with light chocolate, seemingly good attenuation and a boatload of fruitiness. Clean, don't get a sense of the oats in the nose. Soft, malty, quite dry, with an oat milk boost to the mouth feel and a bit of nuttiness on the finish. Raisin, prune, chocolate and char on the finish. Lovely. Love the dryness.

Brewery draught, 4/25/23. Dark black. Lighter tan head slowly to ring. Chocolatey whiskey with caramel and vanilla. Very nice and the barrel is moderate. Some raisin, prune, brown sugar and no alcohol or overdone whiskey. Chocolatey whiskey, lots of salty char, spice, chewy raisin, vanilla. Really nicely done, I think this is my second favorite BA stout/barleywine they've done so far. Great attenuation, and it almost feels a bit lighter bodied than I'd prefer, at points, but still has plenty of heft to it. Not boozey at all and with tons of interesting choco-raisin-vanilla-whiskey lingering.

Brewery draught, 4/25/23. Translucent black cherry. No head. Brett and cherry, with soft wheat like character and mild oak. Quite a bit of juicy fruit, seems like moderate residual sweetness. Clean, tart, no acetic. Juicy, with lovely cherry, light Brett, moderate oak and a wheat like character. Juicy as hell with excellent cherry depth and massive, succulent notes. Mildly tart. Could accuse it of being too sweet, but I think the flavor is so good that it works just fine. Excellent acidity on the end, anyways. And the oak contributes dryness.

Brewery draught, 4/25/23. Lightly to moderately hazy. Light blonde-brass. Small, white head, low retention. Soft, juicy, citrusy. Smells like Citra done well. Cracker malts, clean yeast no resin. Quite soft and malty for its small size, good attenuation and balance with moderate bitterness. Juicy citrus, light honey and cracker. Light, clean, very drinkable and flavorful.

Brewery draught 3/2/23. Lightly hazy, tangerine-brass. No head. Smells mostly lactic with not much adjunct behind it. I guess there's passion fruit but would never guess it blind. Blends with the kettle souring. Soft and juicy, big helping of passion fruit with moderate lactic acidity. Dry, low vanilla, clean. A fine kettle sour, I guess. At least it's near bone dry.

Brewery draught, 3/2/23. Heavily hazy, bronze-maize-golden. White head to ring. Uh oh a bit of garlic. Maybe some pineapple and tangerine. White bread malts. Soft, juicy, malty, oniony. Why the F did they add mosaic to this?! Damn. Twang and onion, spicy garlic. Sad because it's well-done otherwise.

Brewery draught, 3/2/23. Heavily to turbid hazy, bright orange juice. Medium-sized, off-white head showing moderate-to-strong retention. Big citra-like nose with soft juice and big fruity esters. Typical honey-whitebread-biscuit malt character balances easily. Some spicy chicken undercurrents. Petrol, spice, green woodsy notes, earth. Thins out severely through the middle leading to a blandish finish. Malt texture is light, with no substance. I know this ghas been on for a while and I guess it's just kept on fermenting. Definitely overly dry at this point. Very earthy...and some diacetyl emerging with warming.

Brewery draught, 3/2/23. Heavily hazy, strawberry-cranberry. No head. Juicy raspberry and light acetic notes with strong jam and moderate lactic acid. Some light red wine acidity and minerality. Raspberries are intense and authentic. Juicy raspberry, good malt backing with honey and lots of chewy texture. No acetic character, just all malo-lactic. Soft, juicy, tart, lightly funky. Well-aged and no excessive or vinegar-like acidity.
