16 oz. can shared by tfontana, thanks Tom. Aroma is pretty bold coffee, soft roast. The positives: the alcohol is pretty restrained. The flavors intermingle with each other really well. Coffee bean, roast, chocolate malts. Body is thick and smooth as it should be. Exceptionally well crafted.

Can (21019--Jan 19, 2021) pour. It's an opaque black with thin ring of beige head. Aroma is strong roasted malt, vanilla, coffee. Taste is strong sweet roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, no hint of alcohol, very well balanced.

Can (21109--so 4/19/21) pour. It's an opaque dark yellow (with light brown tinge), tons of effervescent sparkle to thin cap of off-white head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is dank pine balanced with lemon/orange citrus, apricot and mild herb. Taste is predominantly sweet over tart citrus with nondescript fruit salad and dankness felt more in the bitterness than flavor. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish as taste with lingering yeast and bitterness. Overall, some nice, bright flavors for the start of spring in a traditional IPA. Fine but not a standout.

Can (21039--2/8/21) pour. It's an opaque black with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width crackling, light brown, tight foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong, roasted malt dominant with milder vanilla and transient whiffs of faint coconut. Taste follows aroma with mostly straightforward roasted malt (though not as dominant as aroma), not much vanilla and, a late bit of coconut and light cherry. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and fairly weak finish as taste. Overall, vanilla and coconut need to be much higher in the mix. Wanted to love this but a bit disappointing.

16 oz. can traded by tfontana. Aroma is chocolate malt and slight coffee. Flavor is mild roasted malt, coffee, chocolate-ish. After sipping on this for over 15 minutes I can’t find coconut. Body is real lean for the style. 25 minutes later, still no coconut found.

Can (20283, so 10/9/20) pour. Appearance is lightly hazy greenish-yellow (urine sample) with nice sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is tart fruit with mild offsetting sweet fruit over cracker and caramel malt. Taste is strong tart green apple with hint of offsetting sweetness. Late cracker. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not overly sour but not getting much in the way of pineapple. Pretty meh.
