Bottle from Sainsbury’s, drunk at home. Mid- to dark gold. Very little smell. Bittersweet taste replete with bitter earthy hop. Nicely carbonated. Average, or maybe just above average at a pinch.

500ml bottle from Morrisons Pours clay golden with a thick white head. Aromas of butterscotch and lemon. Taste is similar. Thin finish. Dull. £1 though so what can you really expect?

500ml bottle. Clear golden amber colour with a small rapidly disappearing white head. Malty aroma with citrus fruits, hops. Flavour has a hoppy bite, a little citric fruity bitterness, malts. Quite drinkable.

*Old rating. Best before 30 Sep 2011. The beer is malty bitter. Nice typical Ale-characteristics. Malts with hints of nuts and nice and fresh. Malty fresh aftertaste. Nice but not too deep.

Backlog. From cask at The Granite City, Aberdeen Airport, 04.08.12. Very pale and slightly unclear. Strong citrusy aroma. Lemon and lime, and more lemon and lime. Too much American hops for an ale. Tastes, smells and looks like limejuice. Aftertaste of lime. No hint of maltiness. Some bitterness, but citrus is overwhelming.

Bottle. A pre-ratebeer signup rate for me, many moons ago, although it’s not too dissimilar from the current lower strength version. Dark amber, fairly smooth in the palate, some sweetness, some fruitiness.

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb. Hazy golden with a small off-white head. Fruity, grapefruit hints, earthy, malty. Sweet, light, watery, dry fruits in the background. The dry finish develops. Soft carbonation. Not good.

With Hrabren & Ogivlado. Oxford Gold (regular version). Golden body, medium white head. Hay, husky maltiness and mild hops in the aroma, light gummibears. Soft mouthfeel ,dry gummi bears countered by somewhat aggressive bitterness. Lasting bitter aftertaste. Interesting really. OK beer.
