[ As Volden Pale Ale ].Clear medium yellow colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, pape malt, moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty, UK yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, sweet malt, fruity malt, pale malt, hoppy, citrus, fruity hops, sharp. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20151203] 6-3-6-3-11

Cask gravity at the London drinker beer fest 2017. A clear golden yellow coloured pour with a a lose white head. Aroma is rubber, pineapple, citrus little. Funky. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, spicy citrus lemon rind, pineapple. Hockey puck plastic, soft g aims.. Bitter long rind. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Ok.

Cask half-pint on 14th Feb 2017 in ’Knowles of Norwood. Dark brown body, tanned topping. Malt led with a slight liquorice aroma and taste alongside the coffee and chocolate flavours: decent.

Cask half-pint on 14th Feb 2017 in ’Knowles of Norwood. Golden amber body, full, lasting white crown. Malty lead to the nose and taste, citrus and piney hop notes arrive in second and third place respectively. Liked it.

Cask at Westow House. It pours amber with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is toasty grain, bready, floral, stewed orange and nectarine. The taste is dry, bitter, toasted grain, spice, floral, light soap, straw and bit of orange peel with a very dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Pretty punchy for the abv. A bit soapy for me.

Cask at Leyton Technical, Leyton. It pours clear rich amber with a medium beige head. The nose is bitter - sweet, brown bread, wood, earth and caramel. The taste is peppery bitterness, wood, bitter-sweet, leather, toffee, caramel, earth and toasted nut with dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A decent best bitter in good condition.

Cask gravity at the London drinker fest 2016. Clear golden orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is rustic pale grains, semi sweet, grain husks, orange rind. Raw grains. Flavour is composed of nice raw cereal grains, little rustic grainstore , orange rind, assertive bitterness. Palate is medium light decent cask condition. Lingering grain husks and assertive grassy dirty bitterness. Interesting enough.

Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Clear gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light, semi dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Semi sweet malts, trace of honey. Light floralness and a mild citric tang. Whisper of smoke. Light finish. Fine.
