Cask, 4.2%. Roast coffee aroma. Black colour. Stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is also roasted, hard roasted malts and coffee. The mouthfeel is a little thin.

Cask at NWAF, Manchester 21.01.11 Pours black with a thin beige head. Mmmhhh.. this is quite smokey, touch flat in appearance, loads of liquorice. I liked this. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at NWAF, 2011. Reddish brown pour, no head. Caramel, raisins, dark fruits and plum aromas. Damsons, prunes and a little light chocolate flavour. Malty, sweet finish.

Small, dense yellow head over hazy mahogany beer. End of bottle solid yeast with UFO’s. Faint sourish, point of lactic acid, milkchocolatearoma, further manure, preserved orange and quite oxydized. Pretty complex, but only reaching balance after some time. Woody, black cardemomflavour, lightly smoked, cacaopowder, some hops, dryish. Medium bodied, quite slick, dry MF, but yet carbonated feel. First impression let a bit to be desired, but it definitely grew on me, as it developped complexity in time. Many thanks, SteveH, good one indeed!

Cask at the Market Porter, London. Pours dark brown with a foamy, off-white head. Strong chocolate covered cherry aroma. Nice. Cherry cordials, like. Plenty more cherry in the flavor, but a bit medicinal. Also some chocolate and coffee, which doesn’t necessarily mesh well with the cherry. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Cough syrup finish. Interesting. Some odd flavors for sure but still drinkable on the whole.

From cask at Crown & Kettle. Pours clear and golden orange to brown with a small, white and creamy head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and vague smoked. Mild smoked touch in the initial flavour and far finish. Caramelish and breadish malty inbetween, rather dry yet not really bitter. Ends with a lingering malty and smoked/tarish flavour.

Bottle from Carringtons, Chorlton. Deep dark brown pour with a thin fading tan head. Sweet, roasted malt aroma with smoke and berry fruit notes. Medium carbonation. More roasted character in the flavour with slight smoke. Didn’t really dance on the palate but went down ok. .Slight bitterness in the finish. Passable if a bit lacking in any real character..

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy to fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, UK hops, light apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate ot heavy bitter with a average to long duration, acrid notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100730]
