Cask at the Red Lion and Pineapple - Acton. Pours clear, dark gold with a foamy, white head. Sweet beer, with moderate bready malts, sugary fruits, minimal bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Finishes with further sweet malt character and mellow, sugary fruits. Fine.

Bottle from the Coop. Appearance - golden with a thin head. Nose - caramel, some lemon on the finish but dominated by sweet notes. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could really be a lot fresher. Overall - when a beer is light bodied the least it should do is refresh but this doesn’t.

Cask at The Metropolitan Bar (W’Spoons), Baker Street, London. A dark amber/ruby red coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague fruity, caramel. Tastes fruity, caramel, almost metallic. Clearly not very fresh. I left most of it.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20140602) The beer poured ruby red and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had toffee, caramel and grass. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were caramel, sweetness, earth, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A way too sweet ESB.

Cask at the Metropolitan Bar, JDW - London. Pours clearish, amber-gold with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds grainy bread and dried fruits. Light-medium sweet flavor with dried and leathery fruits, bitter berry skins, leafy bitterness, subtle berry tang. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Decent balance to finish with further dried fruits, mild bitterness, soft tang. Pretty OK stuff.
