Description
Through more than 200 years of making real premium craft cider, six generations of the Sheppy family have weathered the ups and downs of combining farming with cider-making by embracing change and opportunity.
Today David Sheppy the incumbent Master of Cider, applies his unrivalled knowledge and expertise from a lifetime of cider making to turn our home-grown apples into some of the finest and award winning ciders.
Fifteen of our 90 acres of orchards we planted with tradition standard apple trees. Eight acres of these are certified organic. The remaining 75 acres contain bush trees planted at between 200 and 300 trees per acre, so about 19,000 trees in total at Sheppy's.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Crystal clear gold colour with no head. Does smell of apple and honey. Then again I like honey, but I’m not sure it works here. Apple juice aroma before sweet honey takes over. OK in mouth. Sweetish toffee honey apple on end. Dry eventually on finish. Bit too honey dominated for me.

Bottle picked up from Sainsburys Kidlington. Aroma of apples and faint traces of honey, colour is golden taste is crisp and very appley but well smoothed out by the addition of the honey. Thought that this was going to be a little sweeter than it was but actually was on the dry side, a very reasonable cider indeed.

500 ml bottle, now available in Norway. Clear golden colour. Pours fizzy & sparkling, but carbonation in the glass is moderate. No lasting head. Oaky aroma with hints of leather, dominant late harvest fermenting apples, notes of apple cider vinegar. Flavour is oaky, medium dry. Quite pleasant and refreshing. A decent cider!
