Can. Almost clear gold with a cm of white head that doesn't last. Funky apricot and damp hay aroma with some floral, herbal and boot polish notes. Fairly dry and a bit tart but with memories of plump apricots, old citrus, boot polish. Finish is oaky and a little zingy. Quaffable but retains an air of mystery.

Bottle. Pale yellow, no head after a moment. Aroma is grapey, oaky and tropical with crackers and subtle pineapple funk. Just tart, off dry. Low carbonation. A soft fruity presence with light acidicy behind. Slightly zingy at the end. Interesting how vinous things can get and still remain clearly a beer. Characterful, mellow.

Bottle, from 2016, thx Brandt! Hazy pale golden body, not much head. Funky, yeasty, creamy aroma, floral, vague yellow fruit, some oxidation. Big carbonation, creamy, tart, citric, white wine towards raisins, empty, bit corky, tart. Oooh, this is actually fun, really unusual, very delicate, lightly oxidized. Glad to have tried it!

Bottle. Interesting it's still 6% ABV. Black with a fat coat of brown head that's soon a rim and island. 3+ Luscious chocolate, nut and raspberry aroma. Mainly jammy raspberry but hints of wild hairiness too. Smooth texture that must be the lactose because it's reasonably sour. This does obscure the chocolate and to some degree the nuts but as it warmed above 10C this was less so - so much so that after a while I'm going up a point.

0.375 l bottle from 'Ace Drinks', bottled in November 2018. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, quite fruity and rather funky aroma of overripe lemon, white grapes, gooseberry, cheese and cellar. A little sweet, gently sour, very fruity and quite funky taste of overripe lemon, gooseberry, white grapes, oak, some cheese and light cellar, followed by a short, gently tart, slightly woody-dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice ale, quite refreshing and complex at the same time, extremely well-balanced as well. This one made me curious!

Tap. Gold with a white head. Crackery dough, punchy spices. Dry. Lime, some minerals. Hints of apricot. Only slightly funky. Lowish bitterness. Refreshing with more body and better balance than you'd often get at this ABV. Here's hoping La Sirène recover from their current asbestos-related travails.
