[Another century celebrated with a Mikkeller beer - this time 6400] A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is nicely smoked with notes of bacon, tar, and rope. The flavor is sweet with a nice malt back ground which dominates the start together with some caramel notes, then the smoke gains in power combined with notes of wood and rope, which in turn gives way to a quite dry end, where the ligth smoky note lingers together with a faint caramel note. Not the most powerful smoked beer, but enough to make it really nice.

Cloudy/unclear golden amber with fine white head. Aroma of hops. Taste of many different hops & malts. Little sweetness. Incredibly filling texture-almost creamy. Finish has a fine dominant bite from bitter hops. Bravo! Tap @ Carlsens, March 2010. Amazing. Everything stands out on its own. Soooo Tasty! 4,0 again and perhaps closer to 4,1

Very dark chestnut brown. Nutty, earthy aroma. Light nutty flavour, with vague pale malt notes. Quick finish. There really isn’t anything going on in this one at all. I can barely find three words to write about it.

Hazy dark brown colour. Cold smoked aroma is distant and sparse. Chocolatey flavour is sweet and rich, with a gentle smokiness that interplays with the chocolate well, providing a complementary role. Full body. Overall, an interesting take, sweet and mellow.

Bottled. Hazy, almost copper-colored IPA with a nice, off-white head. Hoppy aroma, actually a bit weak I think, fruity and lightly piney. Hops, pines, fruitiness and malty sweetness in the flavor. Oily, full-bodied mouthfeel and a long finish. A nice beer, but a bit one-tracked hoppy. Yet, it is another good beer from Mikkeller. (060704)
