Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear straw gold with a full finger of white foam that lingers. Lovely brett-y, barnyard aromas with horseblanket, dried lemon and cobwebs. A bit of dried pineapple as it warms. More of the same on the palate with a nice mineral note underneath and great carbonation. Thankfully the acidity is held in check. Great US-made saison.

Pretty hazy golden and peach coloured body with absolutely no head at all, even when poured vigorously, with some light bubbles towards the bottom of the 80 per cent opaque golden body. Aroma of super soured and tart passionfruit with some like oak and foeder notes, but the fruits here are unmistakable with a good note of bretty and lactobilly yeast here as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Incredibly soured, tart and funky passionfruit and oak notes dominate here with a ton of sour notes and a light dose of sweetness on the end, but hard to get past the soured flavours. Afteraste is dry, incredibly tart and soured and once again focused solely on the Passionfruit, with a subtle note of wheat malts to keep it mild and light, but the light creaminess from the lactobilly funk comes through, still way below all the passionfruit here. Overall, as someone who loves Passionfruit and sour ales, this is STILL almost too much, incredibly soured and puckering, mouth-watering, but in a good way if you like both of those concepts. If you are someone who thinks WarHeads (candy) are soured, this would be too sour for you - this brings new meaning to the style, and while I liked it, I'm guessing it'll be way too sour for almost all. A great treat for me on my last day (24th) of my 2022 Advent Calendar (self-created), sampled on 25-December-2022, Christmas Day, after spending the day with my family and watching my wife and three kids open presents on the best of days, purchased from Beer Baron in Livonia, Michigan on 23-October-2022 for US$7,99 (worth the price to me).

Xmas Boozy Bottleshare. Thanks to Fergoose. Hazy gold beer small bubbly off white head. Palate is airy and pretty dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Fairly acetic mid that is burning my throat. Some folks seem to enjoy this, not me. Decent fruity base before a light dry finish.

Pretty hazy golden and straw yellow coloured body with a very fast-dying pure white head that shows less than a centimetre in height and dies quickly. Aroma of sugar cookies, funky lactobilly and especially bretty yeast with some light grassy and floral malt here with a dash of lemons, some strong gueuze and spontaneously fermented yeasts and of course a good hit of actual vanilla pods that add to the complexity, in the nose at least. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong funky yeasts and complex flavours from the bretty notes with a lot of cedar and foeder funk here as well, a solid sweetness right behind and an odd, pastry-like note of vanilla sugar with a hint of artifical notes in terms of the vanilla. Aftertaste shows a lot of funk, a ton of sour and tart qualities, a nice yeast complexity and some light undertones from the malts with a dash of sugar, but that's about it - there is a lot of different notes here, but most reside squarely in the yeasts with a hint of sweetness. Overall, a pretty funky, very soured, tart and vanilla-y beer that has a lot of all those notes, but no malt for support, no other complexities or ranges and no play from the sugars. Not a bad beer by any means and I'm not trying to knock it, but the complexities could be higher with a different set of malts here and a change/addition to the hops with some more richness that lets the complexities from the yeast and tartness be more noticeable. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Beer Baron in Livonia, Michigan on 23-October-2022 for US$7,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on Beer (and Day #11) of my 2022 (self-created) advent calendar.

375ml bottle with gold wax for Brew Exports. It pours clear pale gold with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, vinous, white grape, gooseberry, lemon sherbet, hay, funky vibes, floral accents and some oak. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, puckering, fizzy sour candy, tangfastics, fizzy cola bottles, tart white wine, limited acidity, granny smith apple, lemon - lime, dry oak, hay, distant barnyard and some funk with a drying finish. Medium body and fine to moderate carbonation. Rounded, quenching and moreish. Nice one
