Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

Cloudy pinkish purple pour, with a small pink head. Aroma is tart raspberry jam, with the slightest hint of peach juice. Tartness is nice, mouth feel is full and creamy, with low bitterness. Raspberry notes are all over the peach, and the peach is lost, and 95% non existant.

Huge passion fruit guava aroma, with light stone fruit and citrus zest. Nice and tart, spectacular guava and passionfruit flavours, with copious amounts of grapefruit.. Incredible stuff, one of the best ones yet.

Bottle from the brewery. Hazy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is funky wet hay, quite funky. Lactic, very lambicesque. Grassy, lemon zest, vinous. Mouth feel is crisp and vibrant. Finish is medium bitter, a touch funky, and some nice tartness, leading to some mild sourness. The Plum is lost, the chardonnay grapes add a soft mustiness and vinousness. Hints of cider vinegar, lemon oil, and wet grass. Quite complex and very enjoyable.
