330 ml bottle. Unclear chestnut brown with a big stable fluffy head. Smoked juniper ham (Bayerischer Wacholderschinken), caramel, roasted, dark bread, dark candy sugar, lemon zest. Malty sweetness, umami, dry zesty bitterness. Medium bodied, oily watery texture, soft carbonated, dry smoky bittersweet finish. Nice Rauchbier!

From advent calendar. Rich brown pour and creamy beige head. Nose is lots of hammy smoke. Tastes of bacon, ash, chocolate, caramel, malty. Creamy mouthfeel.

Can 16 from the CostCo Advent box. Pours dark brown with a huge foamy tan head. Aroma is quite smoky. Med body. Malt is slightly roasty and very smoky. There's a hop note I can't place. Good brew.

500ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly bready and minimally grainy, malty aroma, sweet-ish, biscuity overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, slightly biscuity and minimally bready malty, a touch of speculoos, a minimally strawy touch as well. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Harmonious, rather simple, maybe a tad too sweet - OK.

Bottle (from Die Bierothek). Hazy orangeish amber colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is floral, some wooden, mild sweet malty and toasted tones. Flavour is sweet malts, some toffee, floral and mild wooden tones with mild spices.

On tap at Klosterbrau Bamberg. Very deep brown dark cola colour. Lasting tan head. Smoke aroma. Smoke is a little bonfire and more smoked sausage than smoked ham. I had the Spezial Lagerbier earlier and this is a level of smoke more than that. Smoked bbq grill meat charred bbq smoke. Not that I am complaining I like this level of smoke. Its deep yet light. Full on smoke. With a light dark malty background. I mean as a sensory experience it's remarkable. Lovely beer.
