Bottle from station shop in Bamberg. Light smoke aroma and cola. Lasting foam. Cola look. Interesting taste that is rather sweet to be honest and quite light on smoke. Reminds me of Czech tmavys. Very smooth but a bit thin perhaps.

500 ml can #16 from the 2023 Costco Advent calendar. Pours a dark root beer color with dark ruby highlights and a large beige head with excellent retention. Great lacing too. As expected, aroma of dark wood and smoked sausage. The taste follows the nose: Smoked and roasted malts throughout, with some light caramel and thick cut bacon. Most rauchbiers I've tried only taste like a fireplace. This rauchbier has true smokey flavor. Really good. Medium body. Semi-creamy mouthfeel. Medium-light carbonation. Not bitter.

Pours dark brown, looks almost black in the glass with reddish hints if seen through light. Medium sized off-white/greyish head, good enough retention, not much lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: roasted malts with dark bread, light coffee hints, underlying nuttiness bringing some softness, a hint of fruitiness (dark/dried fruit, can't pick up something specific). Taste has quite good intensity and definition: dark bread borderlining burnt bread, the slightest rye bread like spiciness, light coffee hints, light nuttiness, a pretty dry slightly bitter finish and aftertaste. Light to medium sweetness, medium bitterness; light bitter edge in both taste and aftertaste. Light to medium bodied with low to medium carbonation, quite smooth with a just a hint of creaminess. A straightforward schwarz.

Bottle. Cloudy dark orange sporting a big bold white head. Aroma of yeast, malts, grains and caramel. Taste of malts, yeast, minerals, bread, metal and caramel. Vaguely fruity and floral. Low bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Ok.

16oz. Poured a cola brown color with a small white head. Aroma was roasted malts, light smoke. Caramel, bready notes. Light smoke finish. Liked this.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of smoke, leather, roasted malt and caramel with umami note. Pours almost black color with thick soapy light brown head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet smoked roasted malt and caramel, following is leathery, umami and slightly herbal, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. That’s the smoke I like…
