Tap at Klosterbräu. #1. Amber, slightly cloudy. Metallic sweet, malt. Front heavy, but still full body. Creamy fizzy, a nice bitter malty sweetness.

Rerate from tap at the source. Texture and looks still great. Wuite roasty, licorice, soft burnt wood finish. Bottle. Darkest chestnut with a attractive claret shine and a brown creamy head. Smoked fish and chocolate roast aroma. Medium to full body, mellow mouthfeel. Steckerlfisch from woodsmoke, licorice and chocolate notes, strangely lacks a bit chewiness compared to the big neighbour. Soy/umami/smoke retronasal. Interesting notes, but needs more balance to hit moreish drinkability.

500 ml can from the Kaldea set. Smoky nose, caramel, toast, bacon, chocolate. Nice. Almost black, deep brown with reddish tints and a tall tan head. Smoky, somewhat sweet, dark chocolate, touch of bacon, ham, coffee. Complex, and darker than usual. Also quite bitter in the finish.

Can, a pretty exotic find in an Aldi/ Kalea pack. Dark brown with a pale beige head that's soon less than a coat Big smoked aroma with singed treacle, ham, some woody, bready and spicy notes. Pleasant soft texture but it lacks a little depth beneath the smoke. Moderately sweet before a fairly bitter finish.
