On tap at Klosterbrau Bamberg. Hazy deep gold amber colour. Lasting white head. Tasty bock bier unfiltered. Plenty of character. Good hoppy finish. White pepper bitterness. Some honey flavour in the mouth. Not a top bock. But it's strong and good bitterness on the finish. Nowhere near the Griess back I had last night.

Pour is almost a black with a huge tan head. Aroma is smoke and meat. Ham and bacon bomb. Flavor is a little less meaty but all the smoke is here. Like drinking a campfire. Excellent smoke flavor.

Smoked meat, caramel malt, and hay aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Mildly sweet smoked ham, honey, caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Okay body. Nice.

Flaska från Bierothek. Disig orangebrun vätska med medelhögt krämigt skum. Söt och brödig. Mer Vollbier än Keller kanske. Söta äpplen, honung, fruktbröd. Rustik och harmonisk. Gott

0,5 l bottle from Zisch, Wildeshausen. Cloudy orange golden in the glass, nearly two finger white foamy head. Looks really good. Grainy with sweet caramel on the nose. Taste starts with caramel, some grain and bitterhop, nuts in the background. Increasing dry in the second part. Mid carbonated. Bitterhop in the aftertaste. Nice one.

500ml bottle. Dark chestnut colour with weak ruby shimmer and average to huge, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, beige head. Smoky, minimally ashy, slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of smoked wood, barbecue sauce, smoked ham, a touch of TCP, old motor oil, burnt caramel. Taste is smoky malty, slightly caramel malty and minimally roasty, dark malty, hints of smoked eel, smoked ham, dark caramel, smoked wood, a touch of wood ashes, mildly bitter, grassy hoppy overtones, quasi no residual sweetness. Oily-watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Not as balanced, rich and ingenious as Schlenkerla, a tad more rustic - pretty good nevertheless.

500 ml bottle. Murky dark brown with a fluffy head. Dark bread, roasted breadcrumbs, marzipan, roasted malt, caramel, overripe stone fruit, roasted nuts, hints of smoke and rubber. Malty sweetness, roasty bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry roasty fruity malty sweet finish. Solid Schwarzbier.
