Bottle from Alko. Poured very dark brown color with a brownish head. Aroma is raisins and yeast, these come first to mind. Flavor is complex with caramel , plums and yeasty notes all blended well together. Alcohol is nicely hidden, only showing as a warming feeling as it goes down the throat. Sweet finish. Excellent as a nightcap and with some dark chocolate.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Pours big, off-white head. Dark brown/red colour. Aroma is spices, flowers, belgian yeast and alcohol. Taste is sweet and quite bitter. Complex with hints of burnt sugar (roasted or caramel malts) and alcohol. Mouthfeel is dry with medium body. Very nice and interesting overall. A great beer.

900th rating. Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with a medium creamy beige head that lasts awhile leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet malt and alcohol with plum and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt with caramel and light roast. Alcohol present but not too overpowering. Really enjoyed this one. A very complex and amazing Quad from Rochefort.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very cloudy dark amber with a lot of carbonation and a huge creamy beige head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a very sweet malt and fruit with caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a very smooth malt with raisin and brown sugar. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink. Enjoyed this one, a very impressive Belgian strong ale from Rochefort.

6th March 2010. Cloudy dark brown beer. Short lived off white creamy head. Dry palate. Rich dry chocolatey malt. Yeasty spicy undertone. Hint of licorice. Finishes dry and leaves a warming afterglow.

Aroma: 8/10, Appearance: 5/5, Taste: 9/10, Palate: 4/5, Overall: 18/20, MyTotalScore: 4.4/5
7/7/2010 - 33cl @ home
pours a cloudy brown beer with an irregular shaped cream coloured low head. Smells like ripe red fruits followed by ripe banana. A very soft sweet and bitter taste, again with ripe fruits. Dry aftertaste with hints of caramel. Resembles it's stronger brothers of 8 and 10, but is less sweet and easier drinkeable.
18/12/2010 - 75cl bottle @ Gentse Biervereniging - Trappist night
Dark brown cloudy beer, off-white creamy head, adhesive. Aroma: sweet, dried fruits, mocha, chocolate, specific Rochefort yeast aroma. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: little sweet, mocha, dried fruits, caramel. Aftertaste: mocha, caramel, little sour and bitter.

Bottle, 0.33l. Dark color with creamy white head. Plum aroma. Taste cherry and plum, strong in alcohol. Smooth finish. One of the best beers, I ever had. Made for slow drinking enjoying all components of beer.
