Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle shared at the brewery tap - Buttenheim, as "Löwenbräu Buttenheim Weissbier" 25/01/14. Hazed orange with a moderate off white head that clears to spotting. Nose is yeast esters, spice, pear drops, nana, toffee fudge. Taste comprises banana, earthy, mandarins, bread dough, clove. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so hefe.

Where: Löwenbräu Buttenheim.
Appearance: Hazy golden colour with lumps of yeast floating around. Clear at the bottom. White head.
Aroma: Wheat, banana.
Body: Medium body and low carbonation..
Flavour: Sweet banana, wheat, citrus, caramel.

Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle shared at the brewery tap - Buttenheim, 25/01/14. Murky dark chestnut brown with a moderate light beige covering that retains well. Nose is bready, brown sugars, dark malts, toffee, light spice, bitter fruit tones, ripe nana skins. Taste comprises toffee, dark malts, brown bread, clove, bitter fruit, light banana. Medium bodied, light spritzy prickle on the carbonation front, semi drying close. Ok.

Rated als Löwenbräu Buttenheim Weissbier.
Der Geruch ist schön hefig-brotig. Im Antrunk leicht herb, im Hauptteil zwar muffig, aber schön hefig. Auch schön brotig, wie der Geruch versprochen hat. Sehr süffig - halt so, wie ein schönes Weizen im 2er-Bereich sein sollte.

Had this as Löwen Bräu Dunkles Hefeweizen. Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty-yeasty, not too dry. Fruity hints of raisins. Mild sourish notes. Well balanced finish. Nice!

Heller brotiger Antrunk mit süßlicher Würzigkeit. Im Verlauf herber, insgesamt aber milder. Spritzig, zum Ende dumpf. 9/8/8/8/9/8

(Bottle, 0.5 l, bought at Frizzz, 20130713) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, grass and hint of molasses. Palate was medium bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, paper, molasses and bitterness. Afteraste was malty and bitter. Not a bad brew but a bit dull and too high carbonation.

Bottle 0.5l. Thanks to mjs. BBE June 2013. Colour is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Grain, malts, some hops and malts. Nothing special.

Hazy brown color with a thick foamy beige head. Aroma of coffee and ripe banana. Dry taste of malty apricot with some coffee.
