Vom fass in Fasslwirtschaft Riedenburg 21 Jun 07. Bright golden colored. A small fluffy head. Aroma of flowers and fruit. Very carbonated. Sweet fruity flavor with a sweet bitter aftertaste.

Bottle as "Löwenbräu Buttenheim Dunkelweizen". Hazy light to medium amber / brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, wheat, light banana. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (201007)

Bottle as "Löwenbräu Buttenheim Weissbier". Hazy medium yellow / orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, yeast, banana. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (201007)

Bottled at Zauberberg zum Gerch, Hof, Bavaria (as Löwenbräu Buttenheim Dunkelweizen). Cloudy very dark brown. Aroma of toffee, banana and stale butter. Sweet with rounded mouthfeel, somewhat metallic. Short finish. Disappointing in that I’ve had a couple of Löwenbräu Buttenheim beers in my pre-Ratebeer days that I absolutely loved.

(33cl longneck-bottle, with thanks to Captain Sauer & DerDoppelbock!) Hazy, yellow coloured effervescent hue with a thick and slowly lacing foamy blonde head. Slightly dusty, sweet grainy aroma with notes of hay and spicy herbal hops. Light-sweet flavour, light bodied, a bit fizzy, mineralic mouthfeel. Soft grainy, slightly yeasty taste; dry, slightly papery and moderately bitter finish. Drinkable, though a bit disappointing at the end.

(bottle, with thanks to DerDoppelbock) Slightly hazy, pale golden with a foamy white medium-sized lacy head. Quite shy, soft grainy strawy aroma, slightly sweet with a touch of citrus. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium body, lively carbonation. Grainy, pretty one-dimensional taste with light herbal effects; moderately dry, slightly bitter finish. Boring Helles.

(bottle, as Altbayrisches Export-Weizen, with thanks to DerDoppelbock!) Hazy , dark amber to brown colour with a huge foamy off-white head. Dusty, slightly sweet, slightly wheaty aroma with notes of banana, clovy phenols and a faint touch of caramel. Light-sweet, minimal-sour flavour, light bodied with a crispy carbonation. Wheaty and fruity taste, not very “Dunkel”; moderately dry and slim fruity finish. Unspectacular and probably coloured.

(bottle) Hazy orange colour with a fluffy, persistent, slightly off-white foamy head. Dusty and sweet wheat-malty aroma with pleasant fruity notes of banana and peach. Light-sweet and slightly sour flavour, moderately wheaty and fruity taste with light yeasty notes, light to medium bodied, spritzy mouthfeel; slightly sweet, wheaty and fruity finish with very restrained phenols (clove). Okay, but not great.
