Bottle bought @ Landbierparadies. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a frothy and creamy beige head that leaves some sparse lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is malty and smokey with sweet dark bread, caramel, biscuits, smoked ham, hay, moist soil, sweet liquorice candy and hints of burnt wood. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, malty and smokey. Mouthfeel is soft, round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tiny bitter with sweet dark bread, caramel, smoked ham, peat, hay and moist soil. Nicely balanced with pleasant sweetness, soft bready malts and prominent but not harsh smoke character. Enjoyable! --- Beer merged from original tick of Rauchbier on 12 Sep 2015 at 22:25 - Score: 7. Original review text: Soft malts with pleasant smoke. Sssolid!

Bottled, from Landbierparadies. Deep copper colour, rich creamy head - looks delicious! Caramelly nose with some chocolate. Mid sweet with soft mouthfeel and medium-full body. Creamy with caramel and cocoa powder. Low bitterness. Despite its depth and mellowness, this beer does not really turn me on - it is too sweet and caramelly.

*Old rating, best before 30/06/09. Schön trocken-würziges Bier. Nette Röstmalzaromen, ein Hauch von Karamell, leicht alkoholisch, würzig, nett aber nicht zu tief.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Golden, hazy, smaller off-White head; sweetish bready-grainy nose with a peaceful "woody" hoppy Background; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, not light bodied, quite soft; lingering mild "rural2 hoppy and pale-malty finish.
