12 ounce bottle from Festival Foods Green Bay (near I-41). Hazy golden with a thin creamy head. A ring of head sticks around. Aroma of tart grapefruit, pale malt, wheat. Taste is sweet grapefruit soda, a bit of pith, pale malt. Medium bodied, syrupy. A hint of bitterness. Solid beer, actually.

Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a murky purple with a pinkish head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma is full of tart pie cherry with a light sweetness and barrel backing. Flavor combines bourbon and sour cherry with vanilla and a bit of pie cherry supporting.

Brown color and a thick lacing head. I think there is some wheat, i taste banana and some bubblegum only a light sweetness, yeast is noticeable. Very different for Schells. Medium palate --- Beer merged from original tick of Snowstorm (2018) on 11 Feb 2019 at 22:31 - Score: 6

I was excited by the promise of a smoked doppelbock, but sadly I found the smoke to be missing. This is a drier doppelbock. Warming alcohol, malt, but not as sweet as some examples of the style. I would have liked a lot more smoke. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stag Series #13 It's All Relative on 18 Jan 2019 at 17:55 - Score: 7

The fifth edition of this series is a better beer than three and four. It has an opaque black color with some ruby when held up to light. There is a head that starts out tall and thick and never entirely fades. Alcohol is present in the aroma, as well as oak. The flavor is complex with dried fruit, some chocolate, alcohol, moderately roasted malt, and a little sugar. I am not sure the barrel aging helped the beer. There is enough alcohol that it is warming and a prominent part of the flavor and aroma.
