The aroma is are sour, funky fruit and just maybe peaches and/or apricots. Same for the flavor, fairly dry and sour but I can't really pick out the fruit variety. Too sour for me personally.

On tap at Ray Js. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of straw, a bit of hay and some creamy sweet grains underlying. Flavor is straw forward with some creamy sweet grains growing through the finish.

12oz bottle. Past the expiration by a week but I still got it because the Snowstorm series is awesome. Classic Oat Stout, full bodied with a reasonable hop balance gives it a slightly West Coast touch. Really good, a touch sweet, but perfectly down the middle.

Deep ruby and light amber coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves just a thin layer on top. Aroma of metal, astringent alcohol and bitterness with a deep dose of earthy and grainy malts with some bread and hay around the edges and a light hint of caramelised sugars and figgy sweetness towards the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong robust pungent and astringent grainy malts dominate up front, with a lot of grassy, dry and very herbal hops that somehow outlast the deep and bready yeast that does show at the very end, but a deep and malty pungency that hides a bit of the sweetness at the end that comes through from toffee and caramelised sugars. Aftertaste shows some deeper earthy flavours, but a deep hop bitterness from the alpha acids is still around along with a soft sweetness from some pitted fruits and a yeastie and bready finish that shows a deeper side. Overall, a relatively nice and pungent malty, deep toasty beer that has some good sweetness and a strong character throughout. Nice to sample while there is still some snow outside here of my house in Washington. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Hy-Vee in Papillion (Omaha), Nebraska on 21-January-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington just over a year later on 03-February-2021.

From a can this year. A rather ordinary stout that does not bring anything new but is also very drinkable. Smooth palate, roasted malt and on the sweet side. --- Beer merged from original tick of Snowstorm (2020) on 31 Dec 2020 at 20:51 - Score: 6

A rare miss from Schell's. It looks great, good color and a frothy head. Sticky and sweet, low carbonation. High alcohol. Reminiscent of a very strong Euro lager. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shift Happens No. 03 on 07 Dec 2020 at 17:24 - Score: 3
