On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a dark ruby with small pinkish head. The aroma is strong blackberry, wheat, dough. Thin body, tart blackberry, wheat, lacto, crushable, very good.

Pours clear, peachy, pink. Medium sized, white, creamy head. Smell is full on raspberry. Mild funk as well. Fruity, not herbal. Taste is strongly acidic, not tó much, but certainly more than a traditionnal berliner. Easy drinker, loads of fruits. Medium carbo. Nice one.

Draught Medium, very dense & stable pink head over clear metallic pale red-copper beer, brass. Outspoken raspberry odour, not entirely un-artificial, it seems. Something chemical as well, leather treatment. Quite sour, lactic, fruity, no more traces of this "chemical" from the nose. Raspberry obvious, maybe slightly concentrate. Light, bit watery feel. Looks still, doesn't feel so. Not unnice, bit to me this is not real Berliner Weisse.

Color is a deeper Amber than I would normally expect from a Maibock. The Aromas are toasted malt, a bit sweet and wet grain. Flavors are like nose, nice balance between Bitter, Sweet and carbonation. A touch of mint in there too. Good body and finish. Nice beer.

Clean, nice balance between Bitter, Sweet and carbonation. With a little lingering bitterness that helps make it refreshing. Nice beer.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very nice, one centimetre tall, relatively thin, pure white head. Aroma of soured grapes, light hay, flowers, a dash of oak, some bread, yeast and a lot of spontaneously fermented wild notes with a touch of apples and spiced pear sweetness towards the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong funky yeast and soured apple and grape flavours dominate with a lot of wheat and coriander seed freshness, coupled with a softer, dry grassy and herbal finish and some sweetness from the fruits at the end. Aftertaste is dry, floral, herbal and showing a sign of the spontaneously fermented yeasts and wild nature of this, but ends up being more sweet and soured from the fruits than anything else. Overall, a decent and slightly funky beer that is somewhere in between a true berliner weisse and a spontaneously fermented, wild ale, akin to a true belgian lambic/gueuze, but this is really far away from both of those - it's in an odd class of it's own. I sampled this 37,5 cL bottle purchased from Smith's Liqour Gallery in Rapid City, South Dakota on 25-June-2020 for US$7,49 sampled on the last evening of my trip out here in my hotel room here in Rapid City, South Dakota on 01-July-2020.

Bottled April 2015 so just over 5 years old.
Pours a hazy peachy gold with a minimal head of foam, no lacing.
Sweet and sour aromas of peach, lemon, other pitted light fruit.
Wonderful peach tartness with a bit of sweet, lemon sourness, perhaps tangerines or another light pitted fruit. Very tasty and somewhat dry.
Lightish body with carbonation that is almost champagne like.
Wow is all that I can say.

Bottled January 2016.
Even a vigorous pour yields a minimal head of foam sitting on top of a hazy apricot coloured liquid..see what I did there? Can't say I see any lacing.
The smell makes up for the short comings of the appearance. Loads of apricot aromas, sour, light Brett, deep whiffs reveal a fruity sweetness.
Nicely tart from the apricots, light Brett, some acetic sourness, light sweetness, this is a fine variant of the Berliner Weisse style.
Pretty lively carbonation and light body.
Another hit in my book by August Schell.

Bottled August 2015.
Pours a hazy pale orange with a fine layer of foam.
Smells of light pitted fruit, tart, woody, dry, aroma of rye.
Taste? Maybe the best Berliner Weisse I've ever tasted. Nice tartness, very fruity in a light pitted fruit way. Woody and dry from the rye malt.
Medium bodied, this is so tasty at the near 5 year mark.
Way to go Schell!!
