Description
We are George and Tom Jenkinson, brothers and directors of our family run brewery. Founded in 1980 by our father and mother, Richard and Lesley Jenkinson, we remain the oldest independent brewery in the Chiltern Hills and Buckinghamshire.

Located on an old working farm in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, the emphasis has always been to produce natural, wholesome beers using the best, class A malt and hops sourced in England. Our brewing process mirrors age-old methods and our beers are brewed with skill, passion and integrity. We have always been proud to support British farmers and all of our ingredients have a good provenance.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Dry choccy malts, a little papery cream. Touch of ripe berry fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle as the Battle of Britain Old Ale, brewed for Imperial War Museums, thx Dušan for sharing! Shiny amber body, off-white head... Again those rice lager-like notes in the aroma, quite malty, sweetish. bit fruity. Sweetish malty taste, rice lager presence, some fruity notes again in the taste. Okay, the best of the lot, but probably seen better days.

Bottle, thx Dušan for sharing with us! Most likely Chiltern John Hampdens Ale, though the mention of hops instead of the single hop that one claims is what makes me not want to alias it yet. Slightly hazy golden body, off-white head. Oxidized malty aroma, again the rice-like presence. Soft malty taste, the rice touch, not much of anything else. Meh, okay.

Bottle as Supermarine, relabeled for Imperial War Museums. Thanks Dušan I reckon for sharing this! Golden body, off-white head. Oxidized aroma, red apples and rice. Smells a bit like a rice lager. Lean, sweet taste, that rice-like presence as well, light minerally and herbal notes, dusty... not the best of shapes... Will probably rerate if I find it fresh, especially on cask.

Bottle from The Chiltern Brewery near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, hint of bourbon taste/aroma. Not overly complex but a pleasant enough imperial stout from Chiltern Brewery.
