Bottled@The Rake. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Arma is hops, caramel, earth, some mild grass, caramel and toffee. Flavour is mild toffee, chocolate some toasted notes a lot of caramel as well as sme mild fruity/berryish notes as well.

Draught@The Rake. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is diacetyl, wood, fruits, grass and some mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is fruits, diacetyl, bready malts, sweet malts as well as some mild pleasant herbal notes. Not sure if it’s intended to be this diacetylic, but it was still very pleasant.

Cask, gravity at Chadlington Beer Festival, Chadlington Village Hall, Oxon, 05-06-10 Cloudy straw colour. Its lemony and fruity, with apple showing. Refreshing and fine and I can see this being quite a hit with many as it seems ok but I just got the impression that this was very commercial, in fact much like the beers that Cotswold do it was very clinical that’s certainly not a bad thing in terms of consistency but its just seemed a bit mass produced to me, I was really surprised when I saw the website and the write up as I was convinced that this was going to be an alias of a big firms cider. Keg at the Jolly Anglers, Reading. Pours an attractive, natural looking, cloudy pale straw with a voluminous dense white head; the texture is creamy, light and refreshing with flavours of wheat and coriander; the finish is clean and fresh with just a hint of banana. An excellent, light, clean, refreshing, modern, example of the style.

Bottle that was passed on rather generously by a resident of Foscot, Oxon and consumed 14-03-10 Pours dark reddy brown, great clarity. Not getting the Cascade hops on the nose but their is a touch of burnt toffee. Taste is simple but fine, some toffee flavour’s pulse through a lengthy but quite restrained bitterness, touch of the boiled sweets about this, would probably be really quite decent on draught but in bottle struggle to display itself quite as it should. Bottle 33cl. @ chriso - Night of the Gaylords.Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, straw, toasted, apricot. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Bottled@The Chriso Gaylord Tasting. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral and fruity hops along with some mild cardboardy notes. Flavour is fruits, wood as well as some slight earthy and papery notes.

Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Pale gold, lasting thin white head. Bland as hell. No real flavour. Decent balance, but some hop sting on finish. Fine, if not too interesting. Good palate cleanser.

Bottle from Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxon consumed 04-01-10 Pours cloudy warm gold/orange, white head rapidly departed. Aroma is citric with cereal. Taste is quite soft cereal, wheaty and with a little weakend lemon squash. As mentioned many a time before I’m not a big fan of wheat beers but this isn’t bad at all A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Very hazy gold colour with very thin head. Earthy aroma. Not much of a wheat beer to be honest. Some cereal on the finish. Its no german hefeweisse. The rest of it is alright though. Some nice lemon and a bit of sting on the finish. Quite drinkable.
