500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally strawy, yeasty doughy, bready, pale malty aroma with a touch of protein, minimally floral hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly sweet pale malty, slightly bready and yeasty doughy, floral hoppy overtones, mild hop bitterness. Clean, balanced, harmonious.

From bottle at the brewery.Hazy dark brown colour lasting beige head. Banana jumps out of the glass at you. Then toffee and brown malts flavours in the mouth. Too fizzy. Dry finish. I like the aroma of banana especially.

Euro2-Flasche: Deep chestnut-amber coloured, hazy, medium-sized and pretty stable off-white head; sweetish caramelly-wheaty nose with a sourish-yeasty background, shy nutty traces detectable, first traces of infection as well; moderate to solid sweetish-sourish flavour, medium bodied, neither harsh nor soft; slightly lingefing sweet-caramelly and yeasty sourish finish. Has to be consumed quickly, first traces of infection already detectable...

(bottle) Cloudy, murky brown colour with a beige and loose foamy head. Yeasty, slightly dusty and dark malty aroma with a touch of wheat, ripe bananas and clovy spice. Moderately sweet and delicately tart flavour, medium bodied with a slightly sharp carbonation. Dark malty and slightly wheaty base with fruity notes of banana, dark and red berries, also traces of chocolate; moderately sweet and delicately sour-tart and berry-fruity finish with a whiff of alcohol shining through. Okay, but surely not my favourite Weizenbock. 21.XII.16

Thanks Žina for sharing this with us! Poured a dark coppery red body with a tan head. Very, overly meaty malty, sweetish aroma. Taste... ooof, some genuinely nice nutty notes are balancing light tartness and yeastiness in this dry malt bomb. This was so damn messy, but shows promise. Hope to rerate it some day!

Thanks Žina for sharing this with us! Poured a yellow-golden body with a white head. Grainy, malty aroma, sweetish. Soft, grainy taste, honey notes, nice and soft, very light soapy herbal notes as the only thing maybe indicating that some hop was used. This is basically the prototypical helles, completely spot-on malt-wise for the style. With a better integrated hoppiness - though a helles obviously doesn’t need much of it - this would’ve been a world classic. Like this, pretty close. Again, it’s a helles, so not much can be expected from it. Very well executed lager in any case.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is floral, grainy, bready, rather sweet. Taste is again a bit floral, bready, sweet grains. The carbonation is a bit too aggressive. Besides that, it’s a nice Helles.

Bottle. Some nice floral hops for a helles, even though it is not much. Hints of butter over a typical sweetness and bitterness and carbonation. Less refreshing than others. A good one for a helles.

(Bottle, Vagabund Brauerei, Berlin, 24 Aug 2016) Golden colour with brief, frothy, white head. Malty nose with grass, bread, honey and fresh grassy/spicy hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of bread, apricots, grass and a balanced herbal, grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight malt sweetness. Tasty and well made helles with a soft malt character and fresh hop presence. Nice one.
