Description
The Schlossbrauerei Ellingen with its fine beer specialties has been around since 1690. Experience a piece of our long-standing brewing history with every sip. What makes our beers so unique? FÜRST CARL beers are still brewed by hand in the traditional way in the copper brewhouse of the historic brewery. Our raw materials are natural and come from Ellingen and the region: water from our own well, hops and malt from Ellingen and Franconia. We only brew what we are good at: Franconian beer specialties!

Our family, the princes of Wrede and the team of FÜRST CARL stand behind what we do: first-class beers.

500 ml can from the advent calendar. Bright hop nose, lemon and spices, biscuity malt, light honey. Bright hazy gold with a medium head. Very lemony flavor, somewhat sweet malts. Spicy, moderately bitter finish. Good. Almost like an IPL.

Costco advent calendar day #3. I'm a couple days behind. Crisp and simple, though not high in flavour. Mostly just straw, a touch of tin. Golden pour with decent head retention. Good mouthfeel. Easy drinking and pleasant. Can.

Day 3 of my German advent calendar: Fürst Carl Pils Unfiltered 4.9% Nice matte hazy gold with a rocky white head of foam and a herbal bitter green hop bouquet with some dusty malt notes. Medium bodied but surprisingly bitter, mostly herbal hops with a few fruity elements. Crisp but it feels somewhat bitter/unbalanced to me. Ok though.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a cereal grain. Flavor is a pretty good bready malt and a decent herbal hop. This was a pretty good German pils and probably the best in the Christmas pack I bought.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Thursday 24th November 2022 listening to Steve Lamaq and eventually his Round Table on 6Music, we're having Chicken Chowder tonight. Pours gold, excellent clarity with a white head. Interesting there is a little bitterness here, but otherwise quite malty and a little fruity. Aside from these small diversions this doesn't stray too far from the textbook it's quite good.
