Keg at Baileys Taproom, PDX, 11/11/14. Clear amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is biscuit, hops, caramel malt, light tropicana, mandarin. Taste comprises juicy hops, light pine, bitter orange, pinch of spice, caramel malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sem drying close with hop bitterness. Well balanced number, hoppy amber, not what I’d class as a winter ale per say!

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 14 oz
Hazy dark blond color with small compact head. The aroma is lightly grassy, the malt flavor is mellow, with a hay accent, a bit sweeter than the Helles I’m used to, with just a little hop grassy touch.
Quite simple, I expected more from pFriem.

On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a clear dark golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of rye, with bready malt. Flavour is about the same, with lots of breadiness. Dry and drinkable. Good beer.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Nose is full of floral hops, some herbal pot-like notes and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is fresh and hoppy, with loads of floral hops, herbal pot-like notes, and dry crackery malt. Wonderful body to this. Excellent stuff.

2014-08-31, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 10oz
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 5+14 oz
Hazy blond color with compact persistent head. Peculiar aroma, very nice: it’s fruity, grapey, possibly also cheesy (goat cheese). The lean pale malt body is a great choice, still it conveys quality; hop explosion, very resiny, bitter, quite fruity and piney.
Great, straight, modern IPA.

Very pale, clear, has a light pear and ester nose with a touch of gum, has a dry finish with some pale malt sweetness, a dash of alcohol and some more of those phenols.
