Good that basque sidra is now its own category. Juicy apple flesh, some quince and pear notes, lightly tart, refreshingly juicy and estery.

Pump at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa. Cloudy yellow. White layer. Rural apple notes, medium light dry body, hay, astringency, light bubblegum, chewy apple, citrus, mint finish.

Bottle. Hazy deep yellow with barely any head. Creamy apple, light farmyard with a lot of yoghurt, soft oak, cider vinegar. Just medium sweet and sour. Medium bodied, medium dry and flat. Decent Basque cider.

0.75 l bottle from 'Het Biermeisje', 2022 vintage, bottled in June 2023. Very hazy, golden amber with a few white bubbles on top of it. A bit sweetish, sourish, rather fruity, a bit funky even a little vinous aroma of ripe apple, hay, some gooseberry and a touch of barnyard. A little sweet, gently sour, fairly woody-dry, quite fruity, slightly funky and a little vinous taste of ripe apple, wood, hay, barnyard, gooseberry and traces of vinegar, followed by a short, gently tart, rather woody-dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, gently astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very refreshing cider, quite complex, really well-balanced. Fairly enjoyable overall, hope to find more sidras in the future.
