Copper and light amber coloured body with a thin off-white head that fades very fast. Aroma of caramel, toffee, alcohol and pecans - fairly nice, but light and sweet. Medium-bodied; Assertive sweetness with tons of nuts, earthiness and a very mellow malt and bitterness that hits at the end. Aftertaste shows some alcohol and depth with nuts, but aside from the sugars, there isn’t much here at all. Overall, a pretty poor offering and if you don’t want nuts or sweetness, avoid this entirely - since nothing is here for you at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Palm Beach Gardens for US$1.99 on 30-December-2013, sampled two days later on New Years Day 2014 in my hotel room here in Clearwater, Florida.

Pours clear gasoline-colored dark yellow with a smallish white head. Pleasant, fresh, caramel and hop aroma. The flavor isn’t overwhelming, a little bit of malt sweetness with just enough hops to provide some dryness in the finish.

12oz bottle pours an inky black with some creamy, beige head. Nose is earthy, bread, malt, dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, bready, chocolate, cola, dirt. Earthy, dry finish.

Mississippi tick thanks to nmann08. 12oz bottle pours a clear, watery, brown amber with some clumpy white head. Nose has some brown sugar, root beer, bread crust, but artificially sweet. Flavor is the same, frankly. Artificially sweet, brown sugar, root beer, root veg. Sweet finish. No thanks.

Pours a clear copper-amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes gradually. Rings of lacing. The aroma is hoppy with citrus and malt notes. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, grapefruit, pear and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering resiny hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle as Deep South Pale Ale from Julie who got it at Spec’s in San Antonio. Pours light amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt with some citrus? hop. Med body. It’s APA roast malt, and there seems to be strong hop - but the hop is like fruit and pecan? A rather unique APA IMHO. Wouldn’t be my goto beer, but few APAs would. Certainly a good bitter, hoppy finish.
